BIOGRAPHY

HiteeSticks is a drummer, music director and music producer.

Itunu Odetokun, known as HiteeSticks was born in Osogbo Nigeria on the 16th of June.

He grew up in Ilorin Nigeria and that was where he got into music at the early stages of his life. He was born into a missionary home as his parents pastor a church. He got to learn music while growing up in this church.

His first music platform would be his father's church as the main drummer. This was a position he fought to get because the other drummers were way older than he.

He remained a local but dedicated drummer until early 2000s when he stumbled on the Art of A Drummer by Ron Savage. He read the book over and over and it served as a backlog for his understanding of drumming music.

He met AdFunk in the year 2007 and that union introduced him to contemporary music and many other genres. This was when he started learning how to be a professional musician under the tutelage of AdFunk.

He moved to Akure to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure in the year 2010 and that was when his expressions started coming through.

HiteeSticks is burdened with influencing and encouraging the drumming community by reaching out to the community and helping young drummers find purpose in their passion. This burden led him to host #GrooveClinic. This event has had influence on about 250 drummers across the nation and it has held only 3 times.

He is a tech enthusiast and has trained many drummers on how to use technology to their advantage.

His major influence over the years has been Calvin Rodgers. He's been listening to Calvin since the early 2000s.

He currently works as a Music Producer and Studio/Audio Engineer at Lifted Worship Nigeria.
